Job Overview: A law firm based in Clayton, MO is seeking a qualified Trademark Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a practice that represents clients in trademark matters and disputes on a regional, national, and international basis. This position will involve a combination of trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and transactional work, with the potential to work on cutting-edge issues in intellectual property, advertising law, and technology licensing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of trademark clearance, including research, filing strategies, and prosecution.
• Conduct and manage enforcement investigations and handle the issuance of cease and desist letters regarding trademark infringement.
• Negotiate and draft co-existence agreements and settlement agreements in trademark matters.
• Provide legal counsel regarding advertising law, intellectual property, technology licensing, and related transactional matters.
• Offer strategic advice on trademark portfolio management for clients.
• Engage in intellectual property due diligence, including reviewing licenses and agreements as part of transactional work.
• Collaborate with clients on trademark protection, defense, and litigation strategies, providing representation in trademark disputes when necessary.
• Stay current on legal trends and developments in trademark law, intellectual property law, and advertising regulations.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in trademark law, specifically in clearance, filing strategy, and prosecution.
• Proven experience in enforcement investigations and drafting cease and desist letters for trademark infringement matters.
• Experience negotiating and drafting co-existence and settlement agreements related to trademark issues.
• Active law license in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working within the trademark field.
• Strong transactional experience in areas such as advertising law, intellectual property, technology licensing, copyright, and social media law is highly desirable.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Must have an active and current law license.
