Duties

  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice on estate administration, including probate matters and the management of trusts.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of federal estate and gift tax implications for clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to create personalized wealth transfer strategies that align with their financial and family goals.
  • Advise on charitable planning, closely-held businesses, and sophisticated tax planning for both entities and individuals.
  • Stay abreast of changes in estate planning laws and practices to ensure the firm’s services remain cutting-edge.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the estate planning process.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in trusts and estates law.
  • Demonstrated expertise in drafting and managing estate planning documents.
  • Solid understanding of federal estate and gift tax laws.
  • Experience with estate administration, partnerships, corporations, and charitable planning is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent research, writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
