Job Overview
A distinguished law firm is seeking a lateral associate to join its dynamic litigation team in San Francisco. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge and cross-functional litigation matters, spanning areas such as corporate, commercial, class actions, appellate, environmental, securities, antitrust, intellectual property, labor & employment, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in litigation with prior exposure to various litigation areas.

Duties

  • Assist in handling a wide range of litigation matters, including corporate and commercial disputes.
  • Work on diverse cases, potentially including class actions, securities, environmental, antitrust, and intellectual property.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in preparing and executing litigation strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis.
  • Advise clients on litigation risks and case strategies.
  • Manage case files, deadlines, and client communications effectively.

Requirements

  • Law school class year 2021 or senior.
  • Strong interest in and/or prior exposure to corporate and commercial litigation.
  • Experience in one or more areas of litigation, such as class actions, securities, antitrust, environmental, IP, labor & employment, or others.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.

Education

  • J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California

Skills

  • Strong litigation skills and legal drafting abilities.
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research and preparing complex litigation materials.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
