Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and entrepreneurial Associate Attorney to expand its presence in new geographical regions or develop a practice area not currently covered. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, a proven ability to build and maintain a client base, and a passion for delivering high-quality legal services. This role requires a self-starter who can manage their workload effectively, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the firm’s continued growth.

Duties

  • Advocate for clients in litigation and transactional matters, ensuring high-quality representation.

  • Develop and manage legal strategies for cases while maintaining clear communication with clients.

  • Provide precise economic projections for legal services, estimating fees and managing budgets effectively.

  • Set clear expectations with clients regarding legal costs and ensure financial commitments align with case requirements.

  • Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.

  • Oversee case management in collaboration with paralegal teams, ensuring organized and strategic handling of matters.

  • Engage in negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution to achieve favorable client outcomes.

  • Work with professionals across various disciplines, including CPAs, social workers, and mental health experts, to support case strategies.

  • Participate in business development activities, including networking, marketing, and community engagement, to expand the firm’s client base.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain a book of business.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Technological proficiency, including experience with case management systems and virtual collaboration tools.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for hearings and trials.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Ohio State Bar (Required).
