A law firm in Washington D.C. is seeking an experienced IP Attorney with at least 2-6 years of relevant experience and at least $250k in portable business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various aspects of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, infringement matters, licensing agreements, copyright issues, trade secrets, and related matters in diverse fields such as bio-pharmaceuticals, chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and optoelectronics.

Duties:

  • Manage patent prosecution process, including drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Handle trademark prosecution matters, including trademark searching, filing, and responding to office actions.
  • Conduct infringement analysis and advise clients on potential infringement matters.
  • Negotiate and draft licensing agreements for intellectual property rights.
  • Provide legal counsel on copyright issues and assist in copyright registration.
  • Advise clients on the protection of trade secrets and enforcement of trade secret rights.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington D.C.
  • 2-6 years of experience practicing intellectual property law.
  • Portable business of at least $250k.
  • Strong understanding of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Washington D.C.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
