A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its real estate practice in New York, NY. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of responsibilities, including real estate litigation and transactional matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with experience in landlord-tenant disputes, foreclosures, construction issues, and real estate transactions to contribute to an expanding practice. The firm offers a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various real estate litigation matters, such as landlord-tenant disputes, foreclosure actions, and construction-related cases.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, from pre-trial motions and discovery through to trial and appeals.
  • Manage and oversee real estate transactions, including residential and commercial properties (e.g., co-ops, condos, single-family homes, and multi-family units).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to real estate transactions, including leases and purchase agreements.
  • Provide legal guidance on real estate laws, zoning, and property development issues.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide regular updates regarding case developments.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-3 years of experience in real estate litigation or transactional law.
  • Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, foreclosure procedures, and construction disputes.
  • Familiarity with real estate transactions, including residential and commercial properties.
  • Proven experience with legal research, drafting motions, and appearing in court.
  • Ability to handle a full caseload with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in New York.
