Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a mid to senior-level associate with at least 3 years of experience in employment counseling to join its Employment Group. This position will focus on cross-border and global employment work. International counseling experience is highly preferred, as the associate will collaborate frequently with other offices in the firm’s global employment practice. Responsibilities will include providing legal advice on employment aspects of corporate transactions, drafting and negotiating employment agreements, advising on workforce reductions, employee terminations, and employee mobility, as well as offering counsel to emerging companies on various employment law matters. The firm values flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate will possess transferable skills and a solid academic background from a nationally recognized law school.

Location:

  • Palo Alto, CA

Duties:

  • Advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions, including conducting employment diligence
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements
  • Provide counsel on reductions in force, employee terminations, and employee mobility
  • Draft restrictive covenants
  • Offer employment law guidance to emerging companies
  • Collaborate with other offices within the global employment practice
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in employment counseling (domestic and/or international)
  • Experience in an AmLaw 100 firm preferred
  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction in which you are applying

Education:

  • JD from a nationally recognized law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction in which you are applying
