A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join their litigation team in Chicago, IL. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, real estate, and general litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation with a focus on real estate or commercial law and possess a client-focused approach to delivering legal services.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various litigation matters, including commercial, real estate, and telecommunications cases.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including conducting document reviews and managing eDiscovery processes.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and briefs for state and federal courts.
  • Conduct legal research (using Westlaw) and prepare detailed memoranda.
  • Attend and conduct depositions, working closely with clients and witnesses.
  • Participate in court hearings, both in person and remotely.
  • Organize and manage case-related documents and maintain an efficient workflow with support staff.
  • Handle additional duties and responsibilities as required by the firm.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of litigation experience, with preference for candidates with commercial or real estate litigation experience.
  • Strong courtroom experience, including depositions and hearings.
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery software (e.g., Logikcull, Relativity, DISCO) is a plus.
  • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Illinois.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Courtroom and deposition experience.
  • Knowledge of eDiscovery software.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
