A law firm seeks an experienced tax associate to join its transactional tax practice, focusing on providing counsel in complex financial transactions and partnership structures. Duties

  • Advise clients on federal income tax matters related to mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Guide partnership taxation and other transactional tax-related issues.
  • Support private equity clients and funds in structuring tax-efficient transactions.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to address complex tax law matters.
  • Draft and review transaction-related agreements and tax disclosure materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external advisors to deliver innovative and practical solutions for clients.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory changes affecting tax law and compliance.

Requirements

  • 4–5 years of transactional tax experience, including exposure to mergers, acquisitions, and partnership taxation.
  • Strong academic credentials and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Law firm experience preferred; experience at a large accounting firm will also be considered.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred or currently in progress).

Certifications

  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of New York, Pennsylvania, or another applicable jurisdiction.
