Duties

• Provide legal counsel to municipalities, villages, cities, townships, park districts, school districts, and library districts.

• Advise on day-to-day legal issues affecting local government operations.

• Prepare and review legal documents, resolutions, and ordinances.

• Attend and represent clients at board meetings and public hearings.

• Assist in administrative and governance matters.

• Collaborate with other attorneys in the Local Government Practice Group.

Requirements

• Minimum of some experience in local government or municipal law.

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and administrative skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Commitment to maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Illinois Bar License (Required)
