Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on criminal matters, ensuring they understand their rights and options.
• Draft legal documents related to criminal cases and ensure accuracy in filings.
• Attend pretrial hearings, court appearances, and trials on behalf of clients.
• Offer strategic recommendations based on analysis of case precedents and legal research.
• Manage the workload of assigned criminal defense cases, ensuring timely progress and client satisfaction.
• Prepare clients for depositions, including strategy sessions and witness coordination.
• Gather and review evidence to strengthen client positions and counteract prosecution claims.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in criminal defense law.
• Experience handling criminal cases at various levels, including federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong legal analysis and strategic thinking skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in California.
