A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its construction defects litigation team in Seattle, WA. This hybrid position is ideal for individuals with 2-6 years of litigation experience who are eager to contribute to a dynamic practice focused on construction defects, insurance bad faith, real estate disputes, and collections. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-stakes cases, represent diverse clients, and grow within a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Draft mechanic and materialmen liens, bond claims, and related notices
  • Prepare demand letters and pleadings
  • Handle discovery by drafting requests and responses
  • Conduct depositions and site visits
  • Draft and argue motions in court
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategy
  • Assist with trial preparation and provide support during the trial
  • Represent clients during mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Maintain accurate records of time and case activities

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice in Washington and in good standing in all states where licensed
  • 2-6 years of litigation experience, preferably in construction defects, insurance, or related fields
  • Strong academic background
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex cases and maintain high attention to detail
  • Strong desire to grow and advance within a busy and expanding practice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington and any other states where the applicant holds active licensure

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle complex litigation matters and interact with clients
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Experience with construction defects, insurance, or real estate litigation is a plus
