A law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Directors and Officers Liability Practice Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Columbus, OH. This role involves interacting directly with partners and clients to take on increasing responsibility and develop the skills to manage complex cases independently. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze third-party insurance policies and draft coverage opinions.
  • Provide coverage advice to insurance company clients.
  • Correspond with clients, opposing counsel, and other interested parties.
  • Monitor and evaluate claims, including securities class action, derivative, and other litigation against insureds.
  • Conducted complex legal research and analysis and drafted legal memoranda.
  • Assist in federal and state litigation, including declaratory judgment actions brought by insurer clients and defending insurer clients in litigation filed by policyholders.
  • Attend mediations as required.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in Ohio or with plans to become admitted in Ohio.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of ownership over work.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
