Job Title: Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm located in New London, CT is seeking a highly motivated attorney with a focus on cybersecurity and data privacy to join its Business Litigation Practice Group. The successful candidate will have experience advising on security incidents, data breaches, and compliance with state and federal privacy laws, as well as handling litigation matters. Duties:

  • Advise clients on security incidents and data breach responses, including coordination with forensic investigators and remediation plans.
  • Provide counsel on compliance with state and federal data privacy and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Handle litigation matters, including drafting legal briefs, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and making court appearances.
  • Assist with technology contracts related to data privacy and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Support clients in response to enforcement actions by regulatory bodies such as the U.S. Office for Civil Rights and state Attorneys General.
  • Guide the development of company-wide data privacy and security strategies.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on cybersecurity and data privacy.
  • Admitted to practice in Connecticut.
  • Experience with data breach response and forensic investigations.
  • Familiarity with federal and state data privacy laws.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and counseling skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted to the Connecticut Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong background in cybersecurity and data privacy law.
