A law firm in Fort Worth is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their team. Reporting to the Senior Associate Attorney, the candidate will manage a caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Immigration Team. This role involves representing clients in various immigration matters and providing strategic legal advice.

 

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage workload of immigration cases effectively
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments
  • Present to and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and develop case strategies
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court and USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases
  • Utilize case management software to manage and track case progress

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas or eligibility for licensure
  • 1+ years of experience in immigration law preferred
  • Familiarity with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Preferred bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish

 

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members
  • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks
  • Record of advancing legal cases and achieving positive outcomes
  • Experience with case management software is advantageous

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas or eligibility for licensure
