Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the field of computer science and related technologies
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and protect their intellectual property portfolios
  • Conduct patentability searches and provide strategic counsel on patent matters
  • Draft and review patent applications, responses to office actions, and legal opinions
  • Stay updated on evolving technology trends and developments in intellectual property law

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering
  • Experience in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, operating systems, databases, computer networking, and digital design
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • USPTO Registration Number is highly preferred (or eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration exam)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering

Certifications:

  • USPTO Registration Number (preferred but not required if undergraduate degree qualifies for USPTO registration)

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of computer science concepts and related technologies
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple patent cases efficiently
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients and team members
