Duties:

  • Manage an independent caseload with guidance and oversight from senior attorneys.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct legal research and write memorandums.
  • Attend hearings, court conferences, and mediations.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Attend inspections and consult with expert witnesses.
  • Assist in trial preparation and participate in trials.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of medical malpractice defense experience or related litigation experience.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a caseload.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent legal writing and research capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior attorneys and expert witnesses.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New York Bar License (required)
  • Connecticut Bar License (preferred, but not required)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents (motions, pleadings, discovery responses).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Legal research skills, including familiarity with legal research tools.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
