Associate Attorney - Personal Injury Litigation

A law firm seeks a committed and knowledgeable Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Albany, NY. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of personal injury litigation, particularly in representing plaintiffs such as survivors of sexual abuse, victims of medical malpractice, labor law cases, and auto collision claims. This role requires exceptional legal research and drafting capabilities, along with proficiency in legal research tools like Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.

Duties

• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis for various cases.
• Organize and manage cases through the discovery process and depositions.
• Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and appeals.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiate on their behalf.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations across different matters.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to devise effective case strategies.
• Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations pertinent to the practice areas.
• Assist in the preparation of cases for trial or settlement discussions.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of client interactions and case progress.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Prior experience in personal injury law is essential.
• Familiarity with legal research tools, specifically Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.
• Strong legal drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
