Job Overview: A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Project Lawyer with 4-6 years of experience in Project Development and mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in renewable energy, oil, and gas, or project development, including negotiating various agreements crucial to project execution.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate engineering, procurement, and construction agreements (EPC), operations and maintenance agreements (O&M), equipment procurement agreements, and other development agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessment for project transactions.
  • Advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters related to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Handle mergers and acquisitions in the energy sector, including asset and equity transactions.
  • Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle, from inception through financing and operation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar (or eligible for admission on motion).
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in Project Development and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Prior experience in renewable energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Proven track record of negotiating complex agreements and transactions.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting energy projects.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certification in Energy Law or related field.
