Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a highly skilled Family Law Attorney to represent clients in various family law matters. This full-time position requires an attorney with a strong background in family law, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and child support. The ideal candidate will be able to handle high-stress, sensitive cases and manage a large docket, while maintaining professionalism and compassion.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Manage hearings, trials, and case proceedings in family law matters.
  • Pursue aggressive settlements or take cases to trial as necessary.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases.
  • Maintain and organize client files to ensure accuracy and up-to-date records.
  • Assist clients in the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
  • Develop legal strategies based on clients' needs, analyzing situations and determining the appropriate course of action.
  • Collaborate with senior partners, paralegals, and other staff members to navigate the civil litigation process effectively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law practice.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas family law code, statutes, and procedures.
  • Proven success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a large caseload independently and work as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to handling sensitive client matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Active Texas Bar License (required).

  • Expertise in Texas family law.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
