Duties

  • Support regulatory practices related to payment systems, data privacy, cybersecurity, and anti-money laundering
  • Draft and review commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards
  • Conduct thorough regulatory analysis in banking, financial services, fintech, and data privacy
  • Provide counsel on compliance matters in alignment with current financial regulations
  • Review, interpret, and apply federal and state regulations in client advising
  • Stay informed on changes in compliance standards and regulatory guidelines in the financial sector

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in regulatory and compliance within a law firm setting
  • Strong focus on banking, financial services, payment processors, fintech, data privacy, and cybersecurity
  • Familiarity with anti-money laundering laws and money transmission regulations
  • Experience in drafting commercial contracts
  • Additional exposure to healthcare or environmental regulations is advantageous

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active Bar membership in Washington, DC (or eligibility for reciprocity)

Certifications

  • Bar membership required
  • Certifications in compliance or regulatory law (preferred)
