A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for personal injury, auto, trucking, and product liability cases, and possess strong research, writing, and analytical skills. Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw and other research tools.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, concise recommendations to clients.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibits, and trial strategy.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case files.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and court decisions relevant to personal injury, auto, trucking, and product liability cases.
  • Manage multiple cases effectively, ensuring deadlines and court dates are met.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • Strong academic background with excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Westlaw and other legal research tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proficient in drafting various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures and court rules in Texas.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Westlaw and other legal research databases.
  • Strong drafting and legal writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
