A law firm seeks a talented and motivated Labor & Employment Associate to join its growing practice in New Orleans. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in litigation and counseling or have completed a federal law clerkship. Duties

  • Represent clients in labor and employment litigation matters.
  • Provide counsel to employers on a wide range of workplace issues, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour law, and employee benefits.
  • Draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client advice.
  • Handle client communications, including delivering legal advice and updates.
  • Assist with workplace investigations and compliance matters.
  • Contribute to the development of the firm’s labor and employment practice through business development and networking.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and employment law, or completion of a federal law clerkship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues.
  • Excellent legal research and analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Louisiana State Bar (or eligibility for admission).

  • Expertise in labor and employment law, including experience with litigation and counseling.
