Professional Liability Attorney

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an experienced Professional Liability Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will independently manage a litigation caseload, handling cases from inception through resolution. This role involves working on a diverse range of professional liability matters, including malpractice cases and claims against attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents. A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the California Bar are required. The candidate should possess superior academic credentials and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a caseload of professional liability litigation, overseeing cases from initial filing through final resolution.
• Handle a broad spectrum of professional liability matters, including malpractice claims against attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents.
• Conduct thorough case assessments, develop litigation strategies, and execute legal procedures to advance cases effectively.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide status updates and address any concerns or questions.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings, presenting compelling arguments and evidence.
• Engage in discovery processes, including depositions, interrogatories, and document reviews.
• Collaborate with colleagues and experts to build and support case arguments.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and case law to ensure effective representation.
• Manage and prioritize multiple cases and deadlines, ensuring timely and efficient handling of all legal matters.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in professional liability, accounting malpractice, and/or commercial litigation.
• Proven ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the California Bar.
• Superior academic credentials.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in legal research and case management tools.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar.
