A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a highly qualified Renewables Attorney to join their team. This attorney will deliver expert legal counsel on a broad range of renewable energy projects, with a primary focus on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cells, as well as a deep understanding of smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency. Exceptional client service, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication are essential. Candidates must have a JD degree, be an active member in good standing of the Bar, and possess a portable book of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized legal advice on renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage power purchase agreements, facility operation agreements, and related contracts.
  • Offer strategic guidance on regulatory compliance, operational issues, and industry best practices.
  • Advise clients on smart grid technology, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency measures.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and analysis on current and emerging trends in renewable energy.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to resolve legal issues and ensure project success.
  • Manage and address legal disputes and challenges related to renewable energy projects.
  • Build and maintain a portable book of business, showcasing a strong client base within the renewable energy sector.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Bar.
  • At least 10 years of experience in renewable energy law.
  • Demonstrated track record of a portable book of business.
  • Extensive knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell technologies.
  • Familiarity with smart grid technology, energy storage solutions, and energy efficiency practices.
