Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced and dedicated Associate Immigration Attorney for an exciting EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) position in Austin, TX. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and the chance to manage a variety of immigration cases, including removal proceedings, USCIS filings, and more. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of immigration attorneys and legal assistants, handling their own caseload and client interactions while collaborating on complex cases.

Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
  • Prepare defensive immigration applications, including I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), and PD requests
  • Review immigration applications and USCIS filings such as I-130, I-601A, and U-Visa petitions
  • Meet with clients to develop strategies and provide legal analysis
  • Manage a team of paralegals to ensure high-quality client service and meet expectations
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Immigration Law, with a focus on EOIR
  • Ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward efficiently
  • Strong teamwork skills, with a willingness to collaborate and strategize with fellow associates
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR cases, Detained Cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS applications
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law, especially EOIR-related cases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop case strategies and manage client relationships
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Proficiency in case management software is preferred
