A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its team in Kansas City, MO. Duties:

  • Independently manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims from inception to resolution.
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
  • Provide sound legal advice to clients regarding case strategy and workers' compensation laws.
  • Engage in claim evaluations and develop case strategies to secure favorable outcomes.
  • Negotiate settlements and ensure compliance with applicable workers' compensation regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and legal support staff to optimize case management efficiency.
  • Stay informed on changes in workers' compensation laws and legal precedents.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling workers' compensation cases.
  • Strong knowledge of Missouri workers' compensation laws (Kansas licensure preferred but not required).
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage cases with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to treating clients, colleagues, and legal professionals with respect and professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri (Kansas licensure is a plus).
