A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Associate Attorney with a focus on commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience or a strong demonstrated interest in this practice area. This position requires excellent drafting, communication, and supervisory skills, along with the ability to work independently and oversee teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee teams and lead various projects, including litigation document management, filings, and other legal initiatives.
  • Draft complex motions and pleadings, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and preparing ancillary filings.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including conducting legal research, drafting discovery requests/responses, and preparing witnesses.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Illinois (active and in good standing).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions, or a strong desire to specialize in this area.
  • Experience in bankruptcy litigation would be advantageous and desirable.
  • Strong academic credentials from undergraduate and law school.

  • Exceptional drafting skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams on legal projects.
