Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated litigation background with a focus on tort-defense litigation, management-side labor and employment, and general business litigation. This role requires experience in drafting motions, briefs, and memoranda of law, as well as conducting and defending depositions and court hearings. Strong research, drafting, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and handle tort-defense litigation, management-side labor and employment cases, and general business litigation matters.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including motions, briefs, and memoranda of law.
• Conduct and defend depositions, as well as represent clients in court hearings and trials.
• Perform legal research to support litigation strategies and case arguments.
• Develop and implement case strategies, including formulating legal arguments and gathering evidence.
• Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with legal procedures.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in litigation with a focus on tort-defense, management-side labor and employment, and general business litigation.
• Proven ability to draft and prepare legal documents and represent clients in depositions and court proceedings.
• Strong research and writing skills, with a solid understanding of legal principles and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and projects efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
• Admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
