Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a highly motivated mid-level litigation associate to join its litigation team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant experience in litigation, with a strong desire to grow and develop in the field. Healthcare and energy litigation experience is a plus, but not required. This position offers the opportunity for involvement in a broad range of complex legal matters and provides room for professional growth and career advancement.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed reports and memoranda.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Manage cases and communicate with clients regarding case strategy and status.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements and handle alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s various departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to legal matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations related to litigation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or energy litigation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong desire to represent clients in court.
  • Excellent academic credentials and communication skills.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • License to practice law in the state of West Virginia.
