A law firm in Princeton, NJ, is seeking a White Collar and Government Investigations Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), U.S. export controls, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A general knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred. Candidates must be admitted and actively barred in New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal expertise and advice on compliance with CFIUS, U.S. export controls, and ITAR regulations.
  • Manage and support complex regulatory and compliance matters related to international trade.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including compliance programs, regulatory responses, and enforcement actions.
  • Conduct internal investigations and manage responses to inquiries from regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and implement strategies for ensuring clients' compliance with trade regulations.
  • Collaborate with and support team members in handling regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in international trade regulations and government enforcement practices.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing timely and effective solutions to regulatory and compliance challenges.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership and good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.
  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters.
  • Experience with CFIUS, U.S. export controls, and ITAR is required.
  • General knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred.
  • Experience in supporting a legal team in regulatory and compliance matters.

  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, including CFIUS, export controls, and ITAR.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and regulatory matters effectively.
