Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join their team in Alpharetta, Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with solid litigation experience who is interested in learning and specializing in family law and probate matters. Duties:

  • Take ownership of client cases, including drafting and responding to discovery, pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in mediation, pretrial hearings, temporary hearings, motion hearings, and trials.
  • Conduct client meetings to assess legal needs and provide strategic advice.
  • Delegate tasks to paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication and setting realistic expectations.
  • Analyze complex legal issues, advise clients on possible solutions, and negotiate favorable outcomes.
  • Continuously collaborate with senior attorneys to refine strategies and ensure effective case management.

Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years of litigation experience.
  • Strong advocacy skills and courtroom experience.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and manage client expectations.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting legal documents, and preparing for hearings and trials.
  • Willingness to learn family law and probate practice areas.
  • Ability to delegate work effectively and manage a team of support staff.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience in handling emotionally charged cases with professionalism and empathy.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Georgia (Georgia Bar exam passed).

Skills:

  • Superior litigation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Proficiency in case management and legal technology tools.
  • Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are a plus but not required.
