A law firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Attorney to join their team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience specializing in defending medical malpractice and assisted living/long-term care cases. This role involves significant client contact, court appearances, and comprehensive legal work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare summaries of medical records to effectively advocate for clients.
  • Draft motions and attend hearings to represent clients in court.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trials, and appellate activity.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
  • Draft and respond to discovery-related motions.
  • Draft motions for summary judgments.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to provide high-quality legal services.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • 3-10 years of experience specializing in defending medical malpractice and assisted living/long-term care cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent research abilities and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
