Job Overview:
A law firm specializing in immigration law is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team. This role provides the opportunity to work remotely while making a significant impact on clients’ lives through the handling of immigration cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law and a passion for advocating for individuals, families, and businesses navigating the U.S. immigration process.

Location:

  • Fort Lauderdale, FL

Duties:

  • Prepare, submit, and review immigration applications, including family and humanitarian-based petitions and removal defense.
  • Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, and the BIA.
  • Coordinate case and legal strategies with team members.
  • Prepare and manage case filings, deadlines, and legal documents.
  • Review, edit, and prepare briefs, cover letters, and filings for USCIS.
  • Research legal issues and identify applicable statutes and decisions.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes affecting immigration law.
  • Develop solutions for complex legal questions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Bar License in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Experience with humanitarian relief (i.e., VAWA, U visa, T visa) is highly preferred.
  • Additional languages (Haitian-Creole, Spanish, Portuguese) are a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
