Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Client Intake & Initial Consultation:

    • Build trust with clients through compassionate communication.
    • Gather and document essential facts related to liability, damages, and coverage.
    • Outline clear action steps for clients and the firm to ensure case success.
  • Investigation:

    • Direct and oversee investigations to build a strong case foundation.
    • Assess insurance coverage and collect all necessary evidence for trial preparation.
  • Negotiation:

    • Strategically negotiate settlements with adjusters while aiming for Full Settlement Value.
    • Maintain strong relationships with adjusters and stakeholders.
    • Prepare cases for trial and litigate if a satisfactory settlement cannot be reached.
  • Litigation:

    • Draft pleadings and discovery documents for lawsuits.
    • Strategize for trial, mediation, or arbitration, ensuring thorough preparations.
  • General Responsibilities:

    • Review and sign off on correspondence drafted by team members.
    • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient case progression.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to settle cases and advocate fiercely when necessary.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Ohio.

Skills:

  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters with expertise.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
