Job Overview: A law firm specializing in health care litigation is seeking a mid- to Senior-Level Associate Attorney to represent hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers in complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, with a focus on reimbursement disputes and corporate healthcare issues.

Duties:

  • Represent hospitals, health systems, and healthcare providers in litigation matters, including shareholder disputes, reimbursement lawsuits against significant health plans, and multiparty litigation.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents related to health care litigation.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes with opposing counsel.
  • Review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents relevant to healthcare litigation.
  • Participate in arbitrations, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trials.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and remain updated on healthcare laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
  • Experience in healthcare litigation, particularly in reimbursement litigation.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple complex cases independently.
  • Strong writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in business-focused healthcare litigation.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance issues.
  • Previous experience in managing and mentoring junior associates and legal staff.
