Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Partner/Of Counsel to join its litigation group in Atlanta, GA. This position focuses on civil litigation, particularly in insurance defense and transportation. The successful candidate will have extensive experience handling cases from inception through resolution, including depositions, motion practice, and trials. Duties

  • Conduct file reviews and analyze claims and causes of action.
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Handle discovery, including drafting and responding to requests.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, depositions, and mediations.
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.
  • Participate in negotiations and mediations to resolve disputes.
  • Travel as required for case management and court appearances.

Requirements

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in Georgia (admission in additional states is a plus).

Experience

  • Minimum of 7+ years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis on insurance defense and/or transportation cases.
  • Proven track record of managing cases from inception to conclusion.
  • Experience with depositions, including 30(b)(6) and expert witnesses.
  • Strong background in drafting and arguing substantive motions and attending hearings and trials.
  • Participation in negotiations and mediations.
