Job Overview:

A distinguished law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Insurance Coverage practice group in Florida. This role involves handling complex insurance coverage matters, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. The ideal candidate should possess strong litigation skills and be capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. Remote work options are available.

Location:

  • Fort Myers, Florida

Duties:

  • Review case files and assess claims and legal causes of action.

  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate documents.

  • Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, and depositions.

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.

  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.

  • Prepare cases for trial and attend proceedings as necessary.

  • Maintain an annual billable requirement of 1,950 hours.

  • Travel as needed for case-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance coverage (preferred but not required).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a team.

  • Prompt responsiveness to emails and phone inquiries.

  • Strong client management and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida (additional state admissions are a plus but not required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in insurance coverage law and litigation procedures.
