A law firm seeks an experienced Banking and Finance Attorney to join its team. The position requires 4–8 years of experience in commercial finance, real estate transactions, and corporate matters. The ideal candidate will assist financial institutions, borrowers, and other stakeholders with drafting and negotiating legal documents, conducting due diligence, and managing complex transactions. Duties

  • Collaborate with supervising attorneys to represent banks, financial institutions, and borrowers in:
    • Commercial loan transactions
    • Real estate finance deals
    • Equipment leasing agreements
  • Draft and negotiate loan agreements, lease documents, and related contracts.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence, including:
    • Reviewing UCC lien searches, organizational documents, certificates of good standing, and litigation searches.
    • Examining real estate title documents, surveys, and other records.
  • Assist with loan and lease closings to ensure smooth execution.
  • Perform legal research to provide clients with accurate and actionable advice.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of relevant experience in commercial finance, real estate, and/or corporate transactional matters.
  • Admission to the Michigan Bar in good standing.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and professionalism.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in Michigan.
