Job Overview:
A well-established Ohio-based law firm is seeking an experienced IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Intellectual Property Group. The ideal candidate will have 2-7 years of experience in patent litigation, including preparation and argument of motions, taking depositions, handling complex discovery, and preparing for trial. Strong research, analytical, and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Duties:

  • Manage patent litigation cases, including preparing and arguing motions in court.
  • Take and defend depositions, and handle complex discovery processes.
  • Prepare case strategies and assist with trial preparation, including drafting briefs and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on IP-related matters.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, and experts to develop litigation strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status, legal options, and strategy.
  • Participate in settlement discussions and negotiations.
  • Keep current on developments in patent law, case law, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • 2-7 years of patent litigation experience, preferably with a focus on IP law.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar (or ability to become admitted).
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and arguing motions, managing discovery, and working on trial preparation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Patent litigation experience, including pre-trial and trial work.
