Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join their Insurance Coverage practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in insurance coverage and litigation. The ideal candidate will be handling both personal and commercial policies and be involved in litigation within state and federal courts. The role requires an individual with proven experience in insurance coverage matters, including drafting coverage opinions and managing all phases of coverage litigation.

Duties:

• Handle insurance coverage matters for both personal and commercial policies.
• Provide legal counsel on coverage issues and prepare detailed coverage opinions.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding case status and legal strategy.
• Draft position letters, and policy language, and engage in declaratory judgment actions.
• Manage litigation through all phases in both state and federal courts.
• Collaborate with colleagues on complex insurance-related cases.
• Research and analyze legal issues relating to insurance coverage.

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in Illinois (licenses in Wisconsin or Indiana are a plus).
• 5-10 years of experience handling first-party and third-party coverage claims and litigation.
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois.
• Additional licenses in Wisconsin or Indiana are beneficial.

Skills:

• Expertise in drafting legal opinions, position letters, and policy language.
• Strong background in commercial general liability (CGL), commercial property, commercial auto, umbrella, and excess policies.
• Experience in handling claims related to additional insured, construction risk transfer, and trucking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex litigation cases effectively.
