A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Transactional Attorney with a focus on Homeowners Association (HOA) law to join its growing team. This full-time, remote position is based in Aliso Viejo, CA, offering a dynamic opportunity for an attorney with experience in real estate, business law, and construction disputes, specifically within the context of common interest developments. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of litigation experience and the ability to handle all phases of HOA-related legal matters, including drafting contracts, mediation, and providing trial support. A hybrid work environment is available.

Duties

  • Handle all phases of litigation, including court appearances, discovery, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, for clients in the HOA sector.
  • Manage client relationships and provide expert legal advice in HOA-related matters.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, clients, and stakeholders to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Conduct legal research to support litigation and transactional activities.
  • Attend mediations, hearings, and trials as required.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior attorneys and paralegals as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case files and documentation.
  • Utilize legal technology, including Westlaw and Adobe Acrobat, to prepare documents and manage case materials.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in real estate, business, or HOA law.
  • Strong drafting, writing, and research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including advanced formatting, and Adobe Acrobat for PDF editing.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the California State Bar (Required).

  • Expertise in HOA law and real estate/business disputes.
  • Strong contract knowledge and the ability to draft and review complex legal documents.
