Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Pomona, CA, seeks an entry-level criminal defense attorney to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel, manage court appearances, and support clients throughout their legal proceedings. Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their cases.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing.
• Manage court appearances and trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research.
• Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents.
• Manage a caseload of cases effectively.
• Provide legal analysis for clients to identify potential case benefits.
• Accumulate additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter prosecution charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions and determine essential case strategy goals.
• Gather information from witnesses and experts to support clients' positions.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated interest in Criminal Defense law through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internship experience.
• Juris Doctorate degree.
• Active Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered).
• A team player who collaborates well with fellow associates.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of progressing legal cases and managing a caseload.
• Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate degree.

Certifications:

• Active Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered).

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in case management software (preferred).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
• Ability to strategize and work collaboratively within a team.
• High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
