A law firm seeks a skilled Biotech IP Associate to join its growing Intellectual Property group based in Boston. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a solid foundation in the biological sciences who is eager to provide superior client service. The role will involve working on patent prosecution, portfolio evaluations, and due diligence in the biotechnology and life sciences fields.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to biotechnology innovations.
  • Assess and manage patent portfolios for clients.
  • Perform due diligence investigations on biotechnology-related intellectual property.
  • Work closely with clients to develop tailored IP strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to provide strategic counsel on IP matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends and developments in the biotechnology field and intellectual property law.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in patent prosecution, particularly within the biotech sector.
  • Strong background in biological sciences, with a preference for candidates holding a Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Previous experience in a law firm setting is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional academic credentials, with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage client relationships, and collaborate effectively with a team.

Education:

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant biological science discipline such as Biology, Molecular Biology, or Immunology.

Certifications:

  • Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
