A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join its team in Austin, Texas. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, represent clients in various immigration matters, and work alongside a supportive team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, strategic attorney with a passion for immigration law and a commitment to delivering excellent results for clients.

Duties:

  • Provide expert guidance on immigration-related matters, offering strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals, including both non-detained and detained clients.
  • Manage a robust caseload, ensuring timely progress and adherence to deadlines.
  • Conduct client intakes and visits to detention centers to assess cases.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and refine immigration applications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes and developments in immigration law.
  • Lead consultations with potential clients to develop customized immigration strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS testimony.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs in support of immigration cases, presenting compelling arguments to immigration authorities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in immigration law, including both removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal matters forward effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on client relations and team collaboration.
  • Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience with various immigration applications, including Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Detained Cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS processes.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in Texas.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal strategy.
  • Proficiency with case management software and legal research tools.
