Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Location: Lowell, MA

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Lowell, MA seeks an Associate Attorney with experience in foreclosure law to join its fast-paced and high-volume Foreclosure Department. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, organized, and energetic professional, capable of managing all stages of the foreclosure process while providing exceptional service to clients in a dynamic work environment.

Duties:

  • Oversee all phases of the Massachusetts foreclosure process, including proceedings in other New England states as required.
  • Draft, file, and manage pleadings in both state and federal courts.
  • Review title reports and perform title curative work.
  • Conduct legal research and produce written analyses.
  • Provide clients with case strategy insights and possible outcomes.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to finalize cases.
  • Attend court hearings and legal proceedings, both in-person and remotely.
  • Track case progress and document activities in the firm’s case management system.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar in good standing.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Federal District Court is a plus.
  • Admission to other New England State Bars is an advantage.
  • Some experience in foreclosure, real estate law, creditor rights/defense, or debt collection.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software platforms.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Massachusetts Bar License (Required)

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and client communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a busy caseload.
  • Proficient in legal practice software and case management tools.
