Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a dedicated and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle complex criminal cases at various levels. This role involves providing top-notch legal defense, advising clients, and managing a diverse caseload.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their cases
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise them on the best strategies following each hearing
• Manage court appearances trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and performing legal research
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
• Manage a workload of multiple cases
• Provide legal analysis for clients to determine any possible case benefits
• Accrue additional evidence to support clients’ cases or counter the prosecution’s charges
• Prepare clients for depositions; determine essential goals of case strategy and gather information from witnesses and experts supporting the client’s position

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Criminal Defense
• Proven experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels
• A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred
• Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of California

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
• Proficiency in legal research and legal software
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to build strong client relationships and provide empathetic legal support
