Job Overview:
A growing mid-Peninsula law firm located in Burlingame, CA, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join their practice focused on Plaintiff-side Personal Injury and Applicant-side Workers' Compensation Law. This position is ideal for an attorney with 0-2 years of experience who is eager to learn and develop their litigation and advocacy skills. Training will be provided for candidates who are new to these practice areas.

Location:

  • Burlingame, CA

Duties:

  • Handle personal injury and workers' compensation cases, representing clients in claims against insurance carriers.
  • Appear before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board and occasionally attend Superior Court hearings, primarily in San Francisco and Oakland.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload, ensuring clients receive proper medical treatment and financial recovery.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and assist with negotiations and trials.
  • Provide client consultations and advocate for injured workers and individuals.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to receive mentorship in litigation, trial preparation, and case management.

Requirements:

  • Active member of the California State Bar (in good standing).
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high caseload effectively.
  • A passion for personal injury and workers' compensation law, with a desire to advocate for injured workers.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn through training and mentorship.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • California State Bar membership (Required).
