Job Overview

A well-established law firm in Tampa, FL, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to manage all aspects of personal injury cases in both state and federal courts. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong advocacy skills who can handle complex litigation, from initial filing through trial and post-trial motions.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
• Conduct client meetings and initiate lawsuits.
• Draft and respond to written discovery requests.
• Schedule and conduct fact witness depositions.
• Retain and manage expert witnesses, including attendance at expert depositions.
• Prepare and argue motions in court.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and attend mediation.
• Develop trial strategies and litigate cases to verdict.
• Participate in internal litigation meetings and training programs.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Florida.
• Proven courtroom experience, with a minimum of two jury trials as the first-chair attorney.
• Ability to handle a high-volume caseload efficiently.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and mentor legal staff.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Skilled in negotiation and legal research.
• Confident presence in the courtroom with a passion for trial advocacy.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Florida Bar.
