A law firm seeks a passionate Family Law Attorney to join its dynamic team in Lawrence, KS. This position provides an exciting opportunity for legal professionals to offer strategic support and guidance to clients dealing with various family-related legal matters, including divorce, legal separation, paternity actions, and estate planning.

Duties

  • Prepare and draft legal documents for submission to relevant entities, including necessary correspondence.
  • Draft pleadings and motions, encompassing judgments and orders.
  • Communicate with attorneys, court personnel, and clients regarding ongoing cases.
  • Interview witnesses for court proceedings and prepare them for testimony.
  • Ensure the accuracy and thoroughness of all prepared documents.
  • Appear in court promptly for all assigned cases.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned cases from start to finish.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed, such as filing, mailing, and organizing case files.
  • Conduct legal research on specific issues as required.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must hold a valid Kansas license to practice law.
  • Preferred experience in family law; however, it is not mandatory.
  • Senior Associate positions are available for candidates with five years or more of litigation experience.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in Kansas.
